(bright cheerful music) (logo whooshes) - Hello.
Good evening, everybody.
Welcome to the Concert of Colors.
My name is Fabian Alsultany.
Today I'm here representing Hassan Hakmoun and probably even more importantly as a friend of Ishmael Ahmed, who was the founder and creator of this festival.
Before I go into all the talking points, Ish was like an uncle to me.
Every time I would see him, I would call him amu.
We were friends going back to 1998, 1999.
Through Ishmael, Hassan has performed here at the Concert of Colors and over at the Arab American Museum about four or five times over the last few years.
So you know, it is with great honor that we're here and great sadness that we've lost Ish, but tremendous that we're here to be able to see his tradition continue in the bringing together of the Concert of Colors.
So thank you all for being here tonight.
So now, without further ado, Hassan Hakmoun.
(audience applauding) Love you.

And rest in peace, my brother Ishmael.
